This wedding between a young American bride and her German groom took place at the Harold Pratt House, the headquarters of The Council on Foreign Relations on Park Avenue. This seems appropriate, given that the guest list included eleven countries spanning Europe, Russia, the Middle East and the Americas. They met while studying for their doctorates at Columbia, both travelling the world. While on a work-study trip, the groom having smuggled the engagement ring from New York City, proposed by Lake Bunyoni, Uganda. How romantic is that!
