About Us

Barraud Caterers Limited, a New York City-based, full-service catering company established in 1980, is a highly professional company with an emphasis on detail and hand tailoring specific to each client and each unique occasion. We aspire to those who wish to reflect their taste and sophistication in their menu and in the all around event, whether an intimate surprise engagement dinner for two, a formal corporate dinner with full ‘trooping the colour’ honours for 200, a theme luncheon to raise funds for a not for profit foundation or an informal family picnic at the house in the country.

Barraud Caterers count food and wine connoisseurs among their clients and design bespoke menus to reflect new developments in the exciting world of cuisine, as will be noted by each season’s selections. Our sample seasonal menus by no means preclude any and all choices clients may have: they are suggestions only, to help begin the organic process of building an event specific to the individual and occasion.

Ro Howe, Chef/Owner of Barraud Caterers, has twice been an invited guest chef for The James Beard Foundation. Howe, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu, has appeared as a guest chef on Gourmet Magazine’s Executive Chef, Sara Moulton’s show, ‘Cooking Live’ on the TV Food Network. Barraud Caterers, which has been favorably rated by The Franklin Report and Zagat, was selected as one of only four established caterers featured in New York Magazine’s Summer Weddings 2010. In an industry where the majority of the personnel are hired on a freelance basis it is vital to hold the centre with a core of devoted, talented, hard-working and joyful individuals. Such are at the heart and bedrock of Barraud Caterers. People who are truly committed — people who love what they do, people who are eager to learn and share, people who are respectful of their tools, their materials and each other and their chosen profession and who then work with pride, dignity and joy. They are a pleasure to keep company with, for me, Chef/Owner Ro Howe, and for my clients.
